Standard Treatment Length: Six 60 minute sessions
CBT for Insomnia is the gold standard treatment for insomnia. The goal of CBT I is change behaviors and thoughts that are contributing to difficulty falling or staying asleep. It will involve learning about good sleep hygiene techniques as well as temporarily limiting your time in bed to reduce nighttime awakenings and improve sleep quality.
As your sleep quality improves, you will increase your time in bed until we have identified the ideal time you need for healthy, restful sleep. Throughout the treatment, you will monitor your sleep to help make adjustments to your time in bed.
