Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT Skills)

Standard Treatment Length: Twenty four 90-120 minute sessions


*Please note, this is not a full DBT program.


The main goals of DBT Skills are to: learn to live in the moment; improve coping with difficult emotions; understand and accept difficult emotions; and  develop healthy relationships. It consists of four modules: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT Skills do not involve directly addressing the trauma. Rather, these skills can help reduce emotional reactivity, decrease unhealthy coping behaviors and improve quality of life.
