Clinical hypnosis has been used for centuries to treat a variety of conditions. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. Unlike what you see in movies and on TV, you remain in control throughout the exercise. The goal of integrating clinical hypnosis into treatment is to teach you a new skill to aid in the self-management of stress, anxiety, chronic pain and sleep difficulties. You will learn how to enter into a hypnotic state, navigate it, and re-alert. Hypnosis can be helpful in reducing symptoms of IBS; coping with anxiety and phobias; improving coping with and the subjective experience of chronic pain; and improving sleep.
